The Center for Evidence-based Partnerships in Virginia (CEP-Va) was founded in 2019 by multiple visionary state leaders from multiple state and local agencies who saw the need for a university-based, independent partner to assist Virginia in its efforts to increase access to quality behavioral health services.
CEP-Va believes all people have a right to resources that promote well-being, including high-quality behavioral health services within their own communities. To achieve this vision, we engage in and promote relationships as a key mechanism for large-scale change. We also serve as the source of truth to verify individuals and provider companies who are eligible to deliver any of the evidence-based programs being used in Virginia. To accomplish this goal, we built and maintain the state’s evidence-based program finder.
CEP-Va serves as a thought partner and consultant to any interest holder in the state–including state agencies, local agencies, provider companies, family members–and anyone with an interest in Virginia’s behavioral health system. We also serve as a data management and reporting resource for the state, providers, and local communities. We have partnered with organizations across Virginia to track fidelity and outcomes for the EBPs being implemented. With our partners and leveraging these data, we design ways to improve the care being provided to families. Highlight over the Reports tab to read all about our initiatives.
Finally, we support Virginia’s effort to expand capacity for EBPs through the Title-IV-E training award program and other training initiatives (e.g., EMDR training, Managing and Adapting Practice training). Virginia has set a course for improved access to high quality services for all who live in the commonwealth. At CEP-Va, we are proud and grateful to work alongside our partners toward this goal.
